Coffee Slasticarna Drina: Reviews & Ratings
We were just in Sarajevo and Bosnia and have been dying for good Bosnian coffee, Burek and Sirnica. This cute little place hit the spot. So good! Nothing fancy just good Bosnian food and solid service. Added bonus: used the restroom in the back which led me through the kitchen and it was SPOTLESS. Not a big issue for me but the owner definitely cares for the place
Most definitely the best burek in Chicago. Atmosphere so cozy and nice, makes you feel at home.
So far I've tried the cheese burek, cevapi, and Turkish coffee. Everything is fantastic and I will be back to make my way through the rest of the menu. Cash only and no frills.
Hands down the best ćevapi I’ve had in the US!! Truly authentic, felt like I was back in Bosnia eating this delicious meal! Couldn’t recommend this place more!
Best sirnica and burek in town! I could make them myself because I’m Croatian but why on earth should I bother when these lovely people can be paid to make it for me?! (Their’s is better, NGL.) Next time you have a gathering order a large platter of sirnica (pictured). If you regret it I’ll buy it from you. I promise.
The people who leave negative reviews focused on “how long it takes” are donkeys. The food is made fresh. This takes time. This is the most authentic and delicious Burek I had had outside of Sarajevo. The owner is incredibly kind and always makes us feel welcome even though we are not Bosnian. Probably a top 3 restaurant in Chicago for me. It should be for you too.
I’ve been coming here for about 8 years and I honestly can’t understand the negative reviews at all. The owner and the chef are incredibly kind, friendly, and welcoming — they make you feel like family every time you walk in. The burek is absolutely amazing, clearly homemade with great care and quality ingredients. Their breakfasts are a must and easily one of my favorites. Yes, they are cash only, but the prices are more than fair and totally worth it for the quality and authenticity you get. This place has real heart, great food, and genuine hospitality. Highly recommended if you want authentic Balkan food and a warm atmosphere.
Ive been coming here since I was a child. Im almost 30! I cant really put into words how much these small, family owned Balkan restaurants mean to me and the community. Thank you for all the yummy food, the smiles, and the years served.
